Focus: Political ideologies and policy making

On 21 April 2018, the Foundation “Qemal Stafa” organized the first Political Academy and started its tour in the Elbasan district.
Under the care of the Executive Director of Foundation “Qemal Stafa”, Ms.Teuta Vodo and in cooperation with the National Democratic Institute, the Academy trained young people about political ideologies and policy-making.
The Political Academy was greeted by special guests like Mr. Taulant Balla, who shared his views on Albania’s prospects for integration into the European Union and the role of youth in this process.
Other guests joining the Academy were Evis Kushi and Arben Kamami, MP for the Elbasan district.
The trainer, Mr. Milan Zivkovic, supervised and instructed the participants, where various activities were realized over the three days.
On the first day, the identification of the most important problems in the field of economy, social policy and education were identified by the participants.
On the second day, critical thinking was developed by dividing groups according to the three political ideologies: liberal, conservative, and social-democracy. Then they had to resolve a political problem according the above-mentioned political perspectives.
During the third day, it was discussed about the practical approach and concept of conditions when making a political decision.
In conclusion, an exam was carried out to check the knowledge obtained during the Political Academy, which will be accompanied by an interview with a person that an impact in the local community of Elbasan district.
The best students will be offered a study visit to Brussels in the European Parliament in the coming months.
