Teuta Vodo is the Executive Director of the Qemal Stafa Foundation, the research center of the Socialist Party of Albania. In January 2018, Teuta was appointed Secretary for Foreign Relations in the Socialist Party and elected municipal councilor in the Municipal Council of Tirana. At the same time, she is a Lecturer at the “EU Institutions” at the Mediterranean University of Albania.
Teuta held the position of Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Justice from October 2017 to March 2019, where she was responsible for the “National Anti-Corruption Strategy”, Chapter 23 “Judiciary and Fundamental Rights”, Coordination Office against Domestic Violence. etc.
Teuta Vodo has served as EU policy advisor and researcher on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs such as family policy, gender equality, human trafficking, bioethics in the European Parliament.
She has worked in the Department of Political Science at the Libre de Bruxelles University as a Lecturer in ‘Research Methods in Political Science’ and as a Judicial Policy Researcher at the ‘Center d’Etude de la Vie Politique’ (2009-2013). In 2012, Teuta worked as a researcher on comparative constitutional reforms, minority rights, and secret evidence at the Center for Socio-Legal Studies at Oxford University (Wolfson College).
Some of the projects where Teuta has worked as a consultant have been, ‘Judge Training and Judicial Reform in the EU (Menu for Justice)’, ‘Judicial Restrictions in Legislatures in Central Europe’ at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS CSS), Oxford Pro Bono Publico ‘, on’ Secret Evidence, Warning for Crime, Enforcement of Warning ‘and’ Awareness of Corruption and Criminal Infiltration of Public Works (WOC) etc.
Her research interests extend to the fields of constitutional studies, international courts, political and social analysis of the rule of law, and judicial reform. Teuta is the author of several scientific publications and articles on the judiciary vs. public policy. She has presented her research at various international conferences and has been a guest lecturer at various political events.
Teuta is a member of the Law, Justice and Society Foundation (FLJS), the European Political Science Associations (ECPR), the American Political Science Association (APSA), the Belgian and French Political Science Association – Communauté Française (ABSP-CF) and International Association of Judicial Independence and World Peace (JIWP).
Teuta has completed a Doctorate (PhD) in Social and Political Sciences and a Master of Advanced Studies in Research Methods at the Libre de Bruxelles University, Brussels, Belgium. In addition, she studied Bachelor and Master in International Relations at the University of Rome “Sapienza” in Rome, Italy.
